Gallant: Hamas is being cut off in Rafah

The Defense Minister sounded a confident note in a situational assessment in the Rafah area, noting that Hamas is being ground down and is cut off from resupply.

Defense Minister Gallant conducted a situational assessment in the Rafah area with senior commanders yesterday (Wednesday).

At the end of the assessment, he said the Rafah operation "will continue via additional forces which will come in. A number of tunnels in the area were destroyed by our forces and additional tunnels will be destroyed soon."

He took note of Hamas' weakening strategic position: "This operation will increase in intensity, and Hamas is not an organization that can renew itself now - it has no reserves, it has no capability to create weapons, it has no supply, it has no armaments. It has no ability to properly take care of injured terrorists and this means we are grinding it down."
