Israel-Gaza War, Yahya Sinwar

NYT: Sinwar still hiding in Khan Yunis where the deepest tunnels penetrate

According to the New York Times, and contrary to other assessments, Yahya Sinwar never left Khan Yunis and is not in Rafah.

Following much speculation regarding the location of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the New York Times has now revealed American intelligence believes he is not in Rafah, and that he never left the tunnels under Khan Yunis.

Channel 12 journalist Yaron Avraham added new details: "Hamas' enormous tunnel network is deep underground under Khan Yunis, descending to a depth of up to 15 floors in some places. Sinwar is protected by a group of Israeli hostages he uses to deter Israeli forces from raiding or bombing his location, according to American and Israeli sources speaking with the paper."
