The IDF spokesman reported that during an operation in southern Gaza, an IDF fighting force encountered a hornet's nest. 11 soldiers were evacuated in light condition and one was moderate injured.

11 of the soldiers were stung once while one was treated after apparently being stung multiple times.

According to reports, the unusual event occurred when, during the movement of the force, one of the vehicles went up on the nest and exposed it, thus causing the wasps to attack the force. All of the bitten soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment in Israel.
