Earlier today, (Monday) Israeli Police detained 13 individuals aged 13-21 who intended to sacrifice baby goats on the Temple Mount. One of the animals was hidden inside a baby carriage. The suspects were transferred for questioning and the animals were taken to veterinarians for treatment.
Police also stated that in recent days publications have been distributed with the aim of encouraging "extremist elements" to ascend the Temple Mount and operate there illegally.
Israel Police stated that they will continue to: "operate in Jerusalem and other sectors in the open and covertly against any person who tries to break the law and existing practices in Jerusalem's holy places. Cases and publications that raise suspicion of criminal activity will be thoroughly investigated. In addition, violators of any kind will be dealt with accordingly. They will be arrested, criminal investigations will be opened, and they will be removed from the area as necessary.
"We call on the public not to give a platform or expression to extreme fringes who call for violations of law and order. The existing practice on the Temple Mount and in the other holy places in the city of Jerusalem has been preserved and will continue to be preserved at all times, and we will not allow extremists and criminals of any kind to violate it," they added.
The Honnu organization stated that they are assisting the detainees
