The IDF continues its policy of targeted assassinations throughout the Gaza Strip with a particularly high frequency since most of the ground forces withdrew from Strip at the beginning of the week. After Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh's three sons were killed yesterday (Wednesday), and additional attacks were reported in the Rafah area, the trend continued this morning with reports of another assassination.

Media networks in Gaza reported that an Israeli aircraft struck a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in northern Gaza. According to the reports, the attack was carried out by a suicide drone, killing five terrorists. It should be noted that the IDF has not yet commented on the killing and the identity of the victims remains unclear.

As mentioned, new details have emerged about yesterday's strike which killed Haniyeh's three sons. It now appears that the attack was not approved by the Chief of Staff or Head of Southern Command, Major General Yaron Finkelman, since it was a "real time" attack.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that the procedure for these types of attacks is to strike without waiting for approval from a higher command level in order not to miss the rare opportunity to kill senior Hamas officials.
