Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with a delegation of Republican Congressmen arranged by AIPAC today (Thursday).
During the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem, Netanyahu provided a survey of the fighting in Gaza. He also responded to the Congressmembers' questions about defeating Hamas, the efforts to free the hostages, and the question of humanitarian aid.
Netanyahu opened in his statement with: "I want to thank you for your support. There's a long tradition of the American-Israeli alliance. It's always been necessary, but it's more necessary now in the face of the barbarism that we face, that threatens our entire civilization."
His core message was: "I have three messages for you. The first is we're going to win. Absolutely. Victory is within reach. It's very close, and there is no substitute for victory. The second is that it can be made quicker ... The third thing is this is, there is a contrary move, an attempt to force, ram down our throats a Palestinian state, which will be another terror haven, another launching ground for an attempt, as was the Hamas state in Gaza."
