Four people were injured last night (between Tuesday and Wednesday) in a ramming attack close to Kokhav Yair junction.
The incident took place on Road 444, when a 26 year old resident of Tira rammed a number of police officers who were on operational duty at a checkpoint. The terrorist then went on to Eliyahu checkpoint where he tried to stab security personnel, who shot and neutralized him on the spot.
A situation assessment showed that the police checkpoint was set up in order to catch car thieves, with the car suspected of being used in the ramming attack was not stolen but rather used for terrorism. An initial check ruled out the possibility of the terrorist having any accomplices.
Magen David Adom medics and paramedics treated and evacuated four wounded to Beilinson and Meir hospitals, including a 24 year old man in stable but serious condition and with a head wound, a 46 year old man in moderate condition with head and leg wounds, and two with light injuries.
The Police later published a photo of the terrorist (above) and denied that his family had warned them, as they only received a phone call after the attack took place.
