Hostage deal: Israeli delegation returns home from Cairo

After progress was made in the negotiations with Hamas in Cairo, "the mediators formulated an up-to-date proposal for addressing Hamas."

The Prime Minister's Office reported today (Tuesday) on behalf of the Mossad that Israel's delegation will return this afternoon from Cairo, Egypt following another round of talks with Hamas.

According to the announcement, the mediators formulated an up-to-date proposal to Hamas with the help of the Egyptians.

"Israel expects the mediators to work harder with Hamas to promote negotiations for a deal. The State of Israel continues to make all the necessary efforts to free the hostages from Hamas and return them to Israel," read a statement.
