Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi arrived at Shifa Hospital yesterday (Friday), where the IDF continues to operate in an effort to arrest or eliminate terrorists. There, Halevi conducted a situational assessment with the Southern Command commander and other commanders.

Halevi stressed the results of the operation in the hospital: “Almost two weeks, very, very, successful, and this is an operation that I tell you: to plan it during war, to issue it during war, to execute it correctly during war, very, very complication. The achievements are very high achievements. There is the realization here of a deceptive idea which is very impressive. There is a very, very important message – a hospital is not a safe place.”

According to him: “We are doing everything not to harm patients, not to harm medical staff. Incidentally, the fact that in this operation, there is not one medical staff member who was injured, there were no patients who were injured, and there are very many terrorists who were injured, very many terrorists who were captured, this is a very, very high level of fighting – very, very high.”

He ended by saying “Until now the achievements are very high and I tell you, no-one can roll back such a large number of arrested terrorists, such a large number of killed terrorists, so many senior (terrorists), and the collapse of the idea that ‘we can be here and here, they won’t touch us.’ This operation has not ended. This operation has achieved its purpose at a very high level and this operation continues to be done thoroughly until we announce that we finished.”
