France 24: France "even stricter" in looking at weapons exports to Israel since October 7

This assertion by Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu was made following allegations France provided Israel with links for converting rifle ammunition into machine gun ammo, allegations AFP could not confirm.

French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu admitted that they have been "even stricter" in reviewing arms shipments to Israel in a recent parliamentary hearing, according to AFP.

The minister insisted that allegations that France provided Israel with links allowing for converting rifle into machine gun ammunition were untrue, as those components were meant for re-export to third countries, not Israel.

He did say that France provides Israel with components for the Iron Dome system.

Canada recently announced that it would be ending all future arms shipments to Israel as long as the war continues, and some on France's left have called for it to follow Canada's example.
