IDF Spokesperson: "We've arrested very senior Hamas leaders whose name we cannot publish yet"

The IDF Spokesperson said that they cannot release the names of some of those captured in the raid because they possess "important intelligence."

IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari gave a statement this evening (Thursday) to the media addressing the war in Gaza, especially the raid on the Shifa Hospital. He stated that senior Hamas leaders were captured, whose names cannot be released to the public yet.

"The operation in Shifa is the largest since the beginning of the war. We captured the entire leadership of Islamic Jihad, we captured 358 terrorists, we killed 140," he said. "During the last 24 hours, we entered the Qatari building, where terrorists hunkered down. They were eliminated, and we arrested very important senior Hamas leaders, whose identity we cannot yet make public - because they possess important intelligence. We will release their names when their interrogation is over."

"The senior Hamas leaders clearly understand the goals of the operaiton. Hamas and Islamic Jihad suffered a terrible blow, and those who did not surrender to our forces - was killed," he added. "We are evacuating the patience in the emergency room of Shifa Hospital, such that all the patients and doctors can be safe. We continue to call on the terrorists in the structure to surrender. There will be ongoing fighting, there will be another few days for this operation."
