The IDF announced today (Thursday) that air defense forces successfully intercepted a suspicious objected launched from the Red Sea area towards Israel. The object crashed outside Israeli territory.

On Saturday night, the IDF announced that they had intercepted a suspicious target in the Eilat area. Public attention was focused on the Shifa hospital raid, so little was made of this. Now it turns out that the missile was not shot down, but rather penetrated the defensive array and exploded – in an open area, but in Israeli territory.

The IDF announced today that “following up on the aerial target that fell north of the city of Eilat three nights ago (Sunday), a cruise missile from the Red Sea direction fell in the open area. The target was being tracked by Air Forces. There were no casualties and no damage was caused. The incident is being investigated.”
