A serious incident took place last night (Saturday) in East Jerusalem, when a report was received about a case of domestic violence during which, according to allegations, the suspect attacked his partner following an argument between them.

A preliminary investigation of the case reveals that the suspect threatened to kill the woman, began punching her, knocked her head against the wall, and pulled her hair, causing bodily harm. Following the incident, the woman required medical care.

"We will continue to act against cases of domestic violence"

Police officers from the Shalem station in the Jerusalem district quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect, a man in his 30s, for questioning. His detention was extended until March 20 so that the investigation can be completed.

Israel Police stated: "We view violence of any kind as serious, and we will continue to act against cases of violence in general and cases of domestic violence in particular, with the aim of bringing the perpetrators to justice and protecting those women who have fallen victim to acts of violence."
