Just before the beginning of the Muslim month of Ramadan, the IDF spokesman announced that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, Southern Front Commander, Deputy Chief of the Shin Bet, and other top army officials have approved plans for the continuation of the war in Gaza today (Saturday).

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Head of Northern Command Major General Uri Gordin met with the security coordinators of the Western Galilee and told them that the IDF is constantly improving its readiness to launch an attack in Lebanon.

The meeting took place with the security coordinators of local municipalities in the latest in a series of meetings between IDF commanders and local residents. Gordin presented the main points of the situational assessment, as well as prospects of an all-out attack on Lebanon.

"My commitment is to change the security situation"

During the conversation, Gordin said: "There is great appreciation for your actions, and for our partnership - we are in it together. The plow and the machine gun have both taken part in our way of life since the inception of the State, and we will continue in this manner. We have made quite a few operational achievements since the beginning of the campaign, we have caused a good deal of damage to terrorist infrastructures, to their ability, and to (their manpower)."

"We are constantly strengthening our readiness to launch an attack in Lebanon. My commitment is to change the security situation so that it is possible to return the residents of the North to their homes," he added.
