International Women’s Day this year is an opportunity for a statement which must be said not only on International Women’s Day, but also every day in the year: women must, simply must be in and influence at all the intersections of decision making. This has to be a national goal for us.

The war proved – the Israeli heroines are everywhere!

And this is the opportunity to tell them thanks.

Thank you – from the tank commanders, the pilots, and the soldiers in the field.

Thank you – the commanders and soldiers in the different units in the IDF, enlisted and reservists and in the security forces, emergency and rescue, the volunteers in the war rooms, the security officers, and the heroines in the field.

Thank you – the heroines who returned from Hamas captivity leading the effort to free the hostages and echoing the cries of whose who have not yet returned home.

Thank you – women who fight to give voice to those whose body was desecrated by human monsters and representing the justice of our cause in the world.

Thank you – women who fear and pray for many months for those at the front, and the women who lost those they hold dearest. And you, yes you – wives of the soldiers – enlisted and especially reservists – the lionesses in the rear maintaining the home and the family and whom the soldiers keep telling me are “the real heroines.”

As the President of the State of Israel, I wish to salute you all and tell you, all of you, thank you!

Together, we will win.
