Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gave a speech today (Thursday) at the completion ceremony of IDF officers at Bahad 1.

Among other things, Netanyahu said as follows: “You are the root, you are the tailwind,” he told the officers and their families. “The families of the fallen who sacrificed what is dearest to them all, my brothers and sisters in bereavement, our hearts are with you. The wounded lions of strength I met know stand here healing from their wounds and hoping for the moment you return to fight with your comrades – there is none like you.”

“The chain of generations of heroes of Israel prepared you for this moment. You have enormous spirit, you have the desire to complete the mission. Four of your comrades fell in battle. The commandment the fallen left to us is to strike the enemy to the end. We are in a war which is incomparably just, you are working to win it in the field. You are striking the enemy and must collapse Hamas. You are in face-to-face battles, eliminating terrorists and destroying tunnels.”

“The IDF is advancing towards achieving the war’s goal – eliminating the enemy while causing minimal harm to civilians,” Netanyahu said. “I say here, those who tell us not to operate in Rafah are telling us to lose the war – I’m saying here: this will not happen. We must stand together against the effort to stop the war.”

“Hamas is the one murdering, kidnapping, and raping. The IDF is the one fighting the evil. The fighting and the learning during the fighting are intertwined with each other. We are learning the continuation of the war during battle. Later we will learn the lessons of October 7, but now it’s important to win.”
