Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich strongly attacked the high command of the IDF after it was decided to re-open the Git checkpoint near Nablus.

Smotrich sharply criticized the IDF's decision and explained: "As someone who has been a part of the cabinet for the past year, unfortunately I see that the senior command that shapes the IDF's perception is still prisoner to outdated perceptions."

"The Oct. 7 massacre did not make them rethink their ideas. The (old) conception still prevails. The concept of security in Judea and Samaria and as well as central Israel has not changed," he pointed out.

Finally, the Minister stated: "We see it on the ground and I hear it from the excellent field commanders. We will not rest until it changes."

Later today, Jewish residents will hold a demonstration at the checkpoint in protest of the aforementioned re-opening. The checkpoint was used by terrorists prior to the outbreak of the Gaza war as an escape route following attacks against Israeli civilians.
