The Defense Minister also defended his stance on the draft, saying it's about math, not politics.

After he was fiercely attacked by his colleagues in Likud, Defense Minister Gallant attacked the criticisms against him at the government meeting today (Sunday).

According to the Defense Minister: “there is no room for attacks on IDF soldiers, including from politicians. Remember that our soldiers are at war. It’s not the time or the place.”

He added that “I was in the Likud, I’m staying in the Likud, and I will stay in the Likud.”

Regarding the draft, he repeated his position, saying that “the army needs manpower now. It’s not a matter of politics. It’s a matter of mathematics.”
