The IDF has announced (Wednesday) the opening of a new mental health center for treating PTSD and battle response, as well as the formation of a unit comprised of top-level civilian therapists in Israel, to help soldiers recover from combat in Gaza.

According to IDF numbers, some 30,000 soldiers have undergone group therapy with mental health officers, dozens of whom are currently being deployed to assist and rapidly treat mental health issues arising from the war.

Some 1,730 soldiers were sent to be treated by specialized battle response teams, 85% of whom recovered and were sent back to their units.

The IDF has also opened up a 24/7 mental health hotline as part of the urgent care services it provides the soldiers.
