IDF confirms PIJ senior leader eliminated in Tubas

The IDF confirms that a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader was eliminated along with a number of other terrorists during operations on the city. One IDF soldier was lightly wounded.

Hours are reports of IDF operations in the city of Tubas, the IDF Spokesperson confirmed today (Tuesday) that a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader was eliminated alongside other armed terrorists. IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Guard officers also arrested 14 terror suspects throughout Judea and Samaria throughout the night.

According to the army’s statement, “in a brigade-level operation to defeat terrorism with the intelligence guidance of the Shin Bet … forces belonging to the Duvdevan unit eliminated Ahmad Draghmeh, a senior leader in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization in the Tubas area. In the past, Draghmeh carried out shooting and bomb-laying attacks against IDF forces and alongside his elimination, the forces eliminated two additional armed terrorists and located an observation war room.”

The IDF also stated that an IDF soldier was lightly wounded during operations and was sent to be treated at the hospital. His family has been updated.

At the same time, three suspects were arrested in the city of Shchem and a Carlo-style rifle and improvised bombs were confiscated. Five suspects were arrested in the city of Hebron. Another suspect was arrested in Yatta along with inciting material and military equipment. The suspects and material were sent to be further handled by security forces.

According to IDF numbers, some 3250 suspects have been arrested throughout Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley, over 1350 of whom belong to Hamas.
