Lookouts from the 636th unit identified two suspects in the Jordan Valley area last night (Tuesday), alerting forces of the crime fighting unit, Border Guards of the Judea and Samaria area, and IDF forces from the 47th Battalion who, aided with a helicopter from the aerial unit, caught the suspects in possession of an M-16 rifle, two pistols, and 20 weapons caches.

The suspects, residents of the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, were sent along with the weapons seized to be handled by the crime fighting unit.

Last month, another smuggling effort involving 50 weapons was stopped last month. Two months ago, three suspects trying to smuggle in thousands of weapons were arrested.
