Former US ambassador: Biden's order against settlers a "betrayal" of Israel

David Friedman referred to Biden's orders against settlers, calling it not only illegal interference in the politics of another nation but punishing Israelis for their freedom of expression.

The former United States ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, who served under President Trump, referred to the orders issued by the Biden administration against four settlers and said that, "according to its terms, this order can apply to any Israeli who opposes the two-state solution - currently this is more than 80% of the population in Israel."

Friedman also wrote on his Twitter account that, "anyone at the Foreign Ministry who feels that he is hostile to the creation of a Palestinian terrorist state can wake up one morning and find his money frozen in his local bank."

"This is not only illegal interference in the internal politics of another nation, and a key ally," said Friedman, "but it illegally punishes Israelis for exercising their freedom of expression."

"Biden refuses to enforce sanctions on Iran but gave himself the power to impose sanctions on Israelis who love and support America just because they refuse to commit suicide! This is an extraordinary betrayal of Israel - I would be shocked if it survives the first day of the Trump administration," he added.
