IDF forces are currently fighting Hamas terrorists operating inside Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. The operation is based on intelligence information indicating terrorist activity by Hamas at the hospital and its goal is to reach terrorist operatives, including those suspected of involvement in the October 7 massacre. So far, several suspects have been detained for questioning.

The attack was preceded by an effort to evacuate civilians from the hospital. A special passage was opened for the evacuation of civilians staying at the facility.

Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qidra said that there was "heavy shooting" in the area and that the IDF had wounded many of the displaced people who had sheltered there.

The forces operating in the area were trained for the task and were also briefed in advance regarding the importance of preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams, and medical equipment.

The IDF said it would continue to act in accordance with international law and against the terrorist organization Hamas, which operates from hospitals and civilian infrastructure in a systematic and cynical pattern, without distinguishing between civilians and its own terrorists.

In addition, Arab reports claim that the IDF now controls the entire city of Khan Yunis, something that it has not verified yet.
