Fighter planes struck a series of targets belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Among these were military structures, war rooms, and assorted infrastructure. Some of the targets belonged to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force.

The strikes conducted throughout Lebanon are in response to the rocket salvo towards Tzfat which killed one woman and injured seven others, an escalation on the part of Hezbollah.

Yesterday, a mother and her son were seriously injured by an anti-tank missile in Kiryat Shmonah. Rambam hospital updated that the two are still in serious condition and are currently being ventilated.

Gantz: The Lebanese Government is Clearly Responsible for the Fire

Visiting at the Charedi hesder yeshivah Hedvata, war cabinet member Gantz said that Israel is enduring an ongoing routine of fighting on the northern border, and that the response to the attack on Tzfat will be intense.

According to Gantz, “the IDF via the Northern Command and all the arrays, has operated for four months to protect the north and push Hezbollah from the border line. We are fighting in the north all the time, and this morning we experienced a serious incident, the response to which will come soon and in force.”

Gantz also announced that Israel not only views Hezbollah as responsible for incidents in the north, but also the Lebanese government as a whole: “It’s important we be clear – the ones responsible for the fire from Lebanon are not just Hezbollah or terrorist parties carrying it out, but also the government of Lebanon and the state of Lebanon which enables this fire from its territory and there is no target or military infrastructure in the northern and Lebanese area which is not in our sights.”
