Opposition Leader MK Yair Lapid strongly expressed his opposition to the proposal to extend army and reserve service while still maintaining the exemption for yeshivah students.

“In the middle of the war, when soldiers are killed every day, when reservists are collapsing financially, the government is bringing the Shirking Law. No Charedi will enlist, no Charedi will risk their life, no Charedi will be hurt financially. This government doesn’t count us at all,” Lapid wrote in his response.
