Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz posted on his X/Twitter account in both Hebrew and English that he and the government will work to "disengage" UNRWA from Gaza, due to its entanglement with Hamas terrorist activities and its perpetuation of the idea of a mass return of Palestinian descendants of refugees into Israel.

Katz thus joins with Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has repeatedly reiterated that "UNRWA is not part of the solution, it is part of the problem. The time has come to begin the process of replacing UNRWA with other bodies that are not tainted by support for terrorism."
