Yisrael Beiteinu party chairman, MK Avigdor Liberman, served as a minister in a number of Netanyahu governments. Now, he says that as someone who understands Netanyahu the best, he knows that Netanyahu is set to resign before another war opens up in the north.

In an interview for Israel Hayom, he said: “It’s clear to me that Netanyahu decided to resign. He wants to reach peace with Saudi Arabia, so that this is his legacy, and that he not go down in history as the one responsible for the greatest Israeli failure. Netanyahu will not take a risk on a war in the north, will strive for a diplomatic arrangement which will temporarily buy time in the north, will arrive at a peace agreement for the sake of his legacy, and will resign.”

Liberman added that “in his vision Netanyahu wants to bring an agreement with Saudi Arabia by October, and for the US to be part of the agreement before the elections, it needs to happen by June.”
