In an interview he gave to Kol Baramah Radio, Shas Chairman and government cabinet member Aryeh Deri spoke of the stresses of making fateful decisions regarding the war and has begun to take sleeping pills to deal with the stress, according to Channel 12 News.

Deri said that "it's not just the soldiers and the hostages that I know - these are decisions that affect the whole Jewish world in Israel and in the world."

Deri added that "the security situation in the south and in the north makes me lose sleep...you should know that there isn't a time when Iran and others aren't trying to harm Jews in the world, synagogues, Chabad houses, and embassies. With God's help they're foiled, but the decisions aren't simple."
