Three terrorists were killed tonight (Saturday) after they tried to penetrate the settlement of Adora in Mount Hebron, this at the end of an extensive chase by IDF forces. One of the fighters was hit by the terrorists' gunfire and was moderately injured.
The event started last night around 20:00 when alarms were sounded in the settlement due to fear of terrorist infiltration. An IDF soldier in reserve went into the area of the perimeter fence of the industrial area adjacent to the settlement, where he was hit by the terrorists' gunfire and called in many forces for scans and searches.
At this point, sectorial and special forces joined the chase. A few minutes later, the 5060th Reserve Battalion, which also defends in the Judea sector, jumped into the scans and encountered terrorists who failed to get past the rest of the civilian security elements of the settlement and eliminated all three after an exchange of fire. It was also said that an m16 weapon, an axe, knives, and Molotov cocktails were found on the terrorists.
The IDF explained that the terrorists got stuck between the perimeter fence of the industrial area and the curly fence and were unable to cross it.
"This is a significant attack that was prevented thanks to the connection between the intelligence of the regional Defense Battalion and the civilian security elements who were alerted to the incident, and the reserve fighters who sought contact and eliminated them after many forces were jumped", said the commander of the Yehuda Brigade, Col. Yishai Rosilio.
"In the last period, we trained the forces and systems a lot for this moment, and at the moment of truth, the terrorists met a powerful, complete, and decisive end and so will be done to anyone who wants to harm us."
The commander of the Central Command, General Yehuda Fox, held a situation assessment together with Rosilio at the point of elimination of the terrorists from the attempted attack.
"We are in a challenging time. In most of the incidents, we manage to stop or harm the terrorists before they go out to carry out the attacks," he said.
"In this case, a significant attack was avoided when three terrorists managed to reach and break through the settlement's fence, but they encountered a strong and ready defense system through the regional defense force soldier who was wounded and urged the forces of the reserve battalion that made contact and eliminated the terrorists. We will learn from the incident to draw lessons and improve, and at the same time we will continue to operate in a broad offensive effort."
