Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana informed Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich today (Wed) that he has decided to cut an amount of NIS 121 million from the Knesset budget for 2024, which will be transferred to the state treasury for the benefit of the war effort.

This is the second cut in the last two months in the Knesset's budget, which joins Ohana's previous decision to cut 80 million NIS. The total of cuts from the Knesset's budget since the beginning of the war and for the benefit of its efforts is 201 million NIS.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana: "The State of Israel is in one of its most challenging and difficult moments as a nation. The channeling of all possible resources to the success of the military move and the success of the enormous economic challenge that we face as a society are a necessary step that the entire Israeli society should commit to. At this critical hour, there is nothing more important than combining forces between all parts of the state and society and devoting all resources to achieving the goals of the war and restoring the economy."
