The IDF announced (Monday) that it had eliminated Hassan Akasha, who served as the head of the rocket array of the Hamas organization in Syria.

According to the statement of the IDF spokesman, Akasha was responsible for the firing of rockets by the terrorist organization Hamas from Syrian territory towards the rear of the State of Israel in recent weeks. From the beginning of the war, Hassan directed terrorist squads of Hamas that fired rockets from Syria towards the territories of the State of Israel.

According to the IDF, "We will not allow terrorism from Syrian territory and it is responsible for any action that leaves its territory. We will continue to act against any threat."

Israel is attacking Syria like never before

Earlier, the Reuters news network published that Israel is carrying out an unprecedented wave of deadly attacks in Syria, targeting cargo trucks, infrastructure and people involved in the Iranian supply pipeline to its proxies in the region.

A Syrian intelligence officer and a commander in the regional alliance supporting Damascus told "Reuters" that Israel changed strategies following the deadly raid by Hamas terrorists into Israeli territory on October 7 and the bombing operations that followed in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

It was also reported that over the years Israel has attacked quite a few targets related to Iran in Syria, including areas where the Lebanese Hezbollah organization operated, but now it is unleashing deadly and more frequent airstrikes against Iranian arms transfers and air defense systems in Syria.
