Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene provided medical treatment to the injured, including a 13-year-old boy who was moderately injured suffering from burns on his lower body, the other involved person was slightly injured. Both were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The police stated that a preliminary investigation indicates that it was probably a flare-up caused by playing with a chemical substance (acetone), and as a result, the boys caught fire.
