Today (Wednesday), the Chief of Staff held a situation assessment in the north and noted that the IDF is going to change the defense and increase its strength at the various borders.
During his visit together with the commander of the command, Lt. Col. Herzi Halevi said that "we are in a very strong state of readiness in the north in my impression, I visit here a lot. I think the state of readiness is at its peak. There is a great deal of proficiency, there is good ability and there is a high spirit. We are in a very good state of readiness in all the sectors and we are currently focusing on fighting Hamas. This war started at a difficult point."
The defense force at the borders will be increased in the coming year
In his words, the Chief of Staff referred to the issue of protecting the borders. "I think we talked about it a previous time in a meeting, we won't dwell on it now. But it also creates, in these very difficult circumstances, some kind of opportunity to change the situation in a very significant way."
According to him, "Also in the south, in the north, in the region as a whole. First of all, we are looking ahead, we are going to change the defense in the routine, we are going to have at least in the next year much more security forces at the borders, and we will reach something that is much stronger."
He also stated, "Because this event, as difficult as it is, and we will talk a lot more about it, it cannot repeat itself, that's for sure. And we need to give a very, very strong response in this matter. I tell you, in our decisions, I know that there is a trained force here, guided, right, spirit. And we go with that, that's our security, we don't have anything stronger than that. That's the most."
