Gabi Naaman, head of the Shlomi Council, said this evening that in a conversation with security officials that he conducted, it appears that there is a terror tunnel from Lebanon to his city.
In an interview with Galei Israel radio, Naaman said: "Two weeks ago I asked the commander of the Northern Command whether there are tunnels into Shlomi and the settlements adjacent to the fence, the answer was 'I can't tell you there are and I can't tell you there aren't.'"
Naaman went on to say: "Yesterday I was in the Knesset, I talked to a number of officials and I heard with my own ears that there is a tunnel in the direction of Shlomi. The person who said this is not just an MK but someone who truly understands. The meaning is that if there is an agreement as they are talking about now, we will wake up one morning and see that what happened in the south is happening in the north. There is no choice but to go in and clean the area and make sure there are no tunnels."
