Man's best friend in action: The IDF published (Sunday) special footage of the activities of the Oketz Unit accompanying the fighting forces in Gaza.

According to a statement from the IDF spokesman, the fighters of the Oketz unit and their dogs from the Marom Brigade accompany the fighting forces in the Gaza Strip. In a large number of cases, the unit's dogs were sent for an initial scan before the fighting forces raided terrorist infrastructures, they identified various types of threats and thus prevented damage to our forces. In addition, the dogs map houses, and locate weapons and explosives.

During a joint attack with the fighters of the 460th Brigade Combat Team in the Jabalia neighborhood, the IDF notes, fighter A sent his dog Patrick to scan the area before the forces entered the building. During the scan, Patrick located a terrorist who was ambushing the forces at the entrance, neutralized him and thus prevented an encounter.

In another activity in the Rimal neighborhood, during a scan by the dog Toy, a corridor was found that connected the building where the fighters were staying to another building where a terrorist was lurking. Toy neutralized the terrorist and thus saved the force from operating in a structure that was considered vindicated.
