Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded today (Wednesday) to the words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which he claimed that Israel "is no different from Hitler". In his words, he attacked the words of the Turkish president and expressed support for the IDF soldiers.

"Erdoğan, who commits genocide against the Kurds, who holds a world record for imprisoning journalists who oppose his rule, is the last one who can preach morality to us," Netanyahu said. "The IDF is the most moral army in the world that fights and destroys the most abhorrent and cruel terrorist organization in the world, Hamas ISIS, which committed crimes against humanity and Erdoğan praises it and hosts its senior officials."

Gantz: "Erdoğan's words - denigration of the memory of the Holocaust"

The chairman of the National Unity party, Benny Gantz, also said that he "condemns the words of the President of Turkey, which are a disgrace to the memory of the Holocaust, and a distortion of reality. The terrorist organization Hamas is the one who committed a terrible act of massacre. Removing the threat of Hamas from the citizens of Israel is an existential necessity and a moral act like no other."

Opposition leader Yair Lapid said that he "strongly condemns Erdogan's words and the shameful comparison to the Holocaust and Hitler."

As mentioned, earlier today Erdoğan commented in a speech he gave at a ceremony in Ankara and harshly attacked Netanyahu and Israel. "We watched the Nazi camps of Israel. What kind of work is this? They talk about Hitler in a strange way, what is the difference between them and Hitler? They will make us miss Hitler even more" he claimed.

"Look, it's been exactly 80 days since the attacks began. For 80 days, all human values have been trampled before our eyes," Erdoğan added. "The voice that stands with the oppressed is the voice of the Muslim Turks."
