In order to strengthen the reserve force at the front, the President of the State Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal visited today (Monday) reserve battalions located in the Gaza Strip Envelope. In the published footage of the visit, it appears that Herzog conferred a rank on the soldiers and also signed a shell and wrote "we trust you."
First, the president and his wife arrived in Tkuma, where they were received by the chief reserve officer, Brigadier General Benny Ben Ari, and the commander of Battalion 531, Lt. Col. Tom Cohen. There they received an overview of the operational performance of the reserve battalion by the commanders and held an open dialogue with the soldiers serving in the reserve. Afterwards, the president and his wife visited the Nahal Oz outpost. They were greeted by the commander of the 7020 battalion, Lt. Col. Shimon Lugasi, who gave an operational overview of the battalion's activities, along with the soldiers and fighters.
In his words, the president sought to strengthen the reserve fighters and express the gratitude of an entire country for their decisive contribution in the war. "We will learn about this war for many years to come. Therefore, what you do is an essential and critical element in victory," he said. "I would like to thank you, it is not easy at all, and it is not to be taken for granted that people have been here for over two months. They leave everything! And come from everywhere. We take upon ourselves the task of strengthening the recognition of reservists - and the recognition is not only in certificates, but in real life. In business, in studies, in any assistance."
"Now is not the time for wars. You can argue, but you need to know how to argue, and not slip into the places of the sixth of October. What we have here is the most beautiful mosaic of this nation," he added. "It is important for me to convey a message to your families as well: this will end, and you will return home. Be healthy, complete your tasks and return home safely."
