Hamas has now shifted tactics to full-on guerilla warfare, complete with its terrorists remaining entirely in civilian clothing and not in any sort of uniform, and with written instructions on when and how to engage with IDF soldiers if contact with commanders is cut off, according to Kan 11 News reporter Itay Blumenthal.

Blumenthal also added that the Air Force is reducing the number and intensity of its air strikes to avoid accidentally harming IDF troops, who are now fighting Palestinian terrorists in close-quarters combat in many areas, and due to deteriorating weather conditions.

The Israeli military and political leadership has been accused by some, including Minister Nir Barkat, of reducing air strikes to avoid civilian casualties even though this increases the risks IDF soldiers take. The leadership responded by saying air strikes were based on "operational considerations," and it may be the issues Blumenthal mentions are part of these considerations.
