Al-Arabi al-Jadid, a pro-Qatari paper, reported this morning (Thursday) from an Egyptian source that Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar informed mediators that the time for partial hostage deals had passed, and now the only deal on the table is "all for all" - all Israeli hostages for all Hamas prisoners - including a general cease fire.

This report comes after a recent attempt to broker a partial ceasefire between Israel and Hamas failed, with Israel offering a week's ceasefire for 40 hostages and Hamas rejecting it, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Sinwar wants to remain in control. It's not that the time for partial deals has passed, it's that Sinwar's time has passed. There's no room for such cruelty anywhere.
