The Knesset Plenum has finally approved the "From Uniform to Studies" law, which establishes full funding for an academic degree for released male and female combatants. Until now, there was 75% funding for each person released, and now the eligibility will increase to 100% funding.

The law states that even discharged soldiers who are currently students will be entitled to 100% completion for the entire degree retroactively.

Also, the eligibility for funding will be increased from 3 years to 5 years from the moment of discharge for regular soldiers, and from 5 years to 7 years from the moment of discharge for soldiers who are officers and permanent personnel.

The law was initiated by Knesset members Ofir Katz, Eli Dellal (Likud), Evgeny Sova, Yulia Malinovsky, Sharon Nir (Yisrael Beitenu) and Michael Biton (National Unity party), and it was approved with the help of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee later in the Knesset Plenum.
