The police announced this morning (Sunday) that a shooting attack carried out at the Qalandiya crossing on the eighth of October, a day after the murderous massacre in the south, has been solved. There were no casualties in the attack.

The fighters and security guards who were in the crossing returned fire to the source of the shooting, and forces of the Jerusalem District Police were called to the scene. Following the attack, a joint investigation was opened at the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office and the Shin Bet. During the last two months, the security forces in Qalandiya arrested the terrorist squad that carried out the shooting attack and others involved. The four terrorists (in their twenties, residents of Kafr 'Aqab and Qalandiya) were arrested for questioning at the Jerusalem District Court and the Shin Bet, and their detention was extended from time to time.

The investigation by the police and Shin Bet reveals that they planned the attack and fired at the security forces in the Qalandiya crossing area intending to hit them, following the terrorist attack by the terrorist organization Hamas the day before. After the forces returned fire, the terrorists fled the scene until they were arrested as mentioned.

With the conclusion of the investigation at the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office and the Shin Bet, at the end of last month indictments were filed against two of the terrorists, and their detention was extended until the end of the proceedings. Last weekend, indictments were filed against two more terrorists by the prosecutor's office.
