Israel's ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan spoke last night (Tuesday), at the UN General Assembly before the vote on a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
During his speech during the rally, Erdan waved a sign with the "phone number" of the Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, and said: "You want a ceasefire? Call this number and ask for Yahya Sinwar! Tell Hamas to lay down their weapons, turn themselves in, and return the abductees. That's what will lead to an eternal ceasefire in Gaza."
The waving of the sign came after Erdan addressed the world's ambassadors and told them: "A cease-fire will only prolong the suffering and destruction in the region and leave the Hamas terrorists in power. What would your countries do if they were in Israel's shoes? Would they call for a cease-fire? What would Moscow do? How would you react? Everyone here knows very well. But if you are interested in a ceasefire, call him."
