Five fighters from Battalion 8111 in the 98th Paratroopers Division were killed by an explosion from a trapped shaft during an operation in Khan Yunis, the fighters returned fire and directed aircraft and tanks to the place where they eliminated the terrorists.

During the encounter, the fighters Major General Itay Peri, 36 years old, from Modi'in, were killed. Major Evyatar Cohen, 42 years old, from Kfar Saba. Major Roman Bronstein, 46 years old, from Bat Yam. Captain Elia Yanovsky, 24 years old, from Jerusalem. Major Ari Yehiel Zanilman, 32 years old, is from Jerusalem.
At the same time, the fighters of the 4th Brigade's combat team raided the headquarters of the Islamic Jihad where they located many weapons, mortar bombs, explosive charges, technological equipment such as operating systems, intelligence documents, and a shaft leading to the infrastructure Underground that was destroyed. From the beginning of the fighting of the 4th Brigade's combat team in the southern Gaza Strip, the fighters destroyed terrorist targets and eliminated many terrorists.
