Almost a decade ago, the Golani Brigade fought in the terrorist stronghold of Hamas in Shejaiya. Now they are going back there on the day of recruiting fighters for the November cycle.
As a reminder, the Golani Brigade fought almost a decade ago in the terror stronghold of Hamas in Operation Protective Edge, and during the battles in the neighborhood it lost fighters and commanders. The brigade commanders and the divisional combat team of the Golani Brigade have returned to fight in the Shejaiya area and are bringing achievements and significant damage to the capabilities of the Hamas terrorist organization.
The fighters of the brigade uncovered about 15 tunnel shafts, located a large amount of ammunition and eliminated terrorists from the beginning of the fighting in the Hamas stronghold. In recent days, the fighters of the brigade encountered many terrorists who fired from a school in the neighborhood at the force.
The terrorists booby-trapped the school compound and tried to lure the fighters into an ambush, a battle took place in the area during which the terrorist squads that tried to attack the force were eliminated.
The Golani Brigade accepts into its ranks today the recruits of the November 2023 cohort who will soon join the ranks of the brigade's fighters.
The deputy commander of the Golani Brigade, Lt. Col. Ohad, who served as the commander of a company in the 13th Battalion in Operation Protective Edge, spoke on the land of Gaza during the fighting: "Almost a decade ago, the Golani Brigade fought in Shejaiya, we lost friends and fighters here, today is our time."
