In response to the statement of Labor Party Chair Merav Michaeli that she was resigning, Meretz Party Secretary-General Tomer Reznick stated that “shared elections must be held for the head of the entire Zionist left – we must not repeat the mistake of the previous elections.”

Reznik also said that “Michaeli’s announcement is important even if it comes late, but the Zionist left camp in general and the Labor Party in particular must not repeat the mistake of the previous elections – Meretz, Labor, and the left parts of the protest movement need to run jointly. I call on the Labor Committee and its faction members in the Knesset to adopt a decision on uniting political forces beginning with joint elections for heading the left camp.”
