Father of the Abductee: "The Families of the Abductees should be Distanced from the Cabinet"

Zvika Mor, whose son Eitan is abducted in Gaza, opposed the meeting of the families of the abductees with the cabinet and said: "These are hysterical people in a difficult situation, the decision makers must not act from emotion. For us to win, we must know how to sacrifice."

Tzvika Mor, father of Eitan who was kidnapped to Gaza and founder of the Tikva Forum of the families of the abductees, was interviewed this morning by Reshet Bet about the explosion of last night's meeting between the families of the abductees and the war cabinet, and claimed that it is forbidden to bring them together again.

"It's a shame that the meeting took place. The families of the abductees should be kept away from the war cabinet," said Mor, "Hysterical people in a difficult state of mind, or those who live in a culture of entitlement, it doesn't work. It's impossible for 200 people to come to get answers, the cabinet is supposed to act without emotion."

"I suggested last night," Mor added, "that there be 2 ministers who will be in contact with the representatives of the families and update them on the decisions, and that way we will be sure that the cabinet is dealing with war matters, making decisions calmly, and not, God forbid, acting emotionally."

Mor added: "I want to adopt the conclusions of the Shamgar Committee." As a reminder, the Shamgar Committee dealt with the issue of what are the guidelines to follow when there are prisoners and missing persons. One of the committee's conclusions was: "There must be a disconnection between the families of the captives and the decision makers at the political level in order to avoid undue pressure."

After Mor was asked what he thought about the fact that freed abductees came to the meeting and told what happened to them in captivity, he replied: "It's very bad that they brought the freed abductees and told what happened to them there. We know the Arab evil very well, we don't need witnesses for that.

The purpose of the stories was to arouse emotion in the representatives of the cabinet and to imply to them that they are not working as hard as possible to release them, this is a disgrace."

Towards the end of the interview, Mor insisted on saying that there is no difference between him and the families whose children are currently at the front: "I do not agree with the aura they are trying to create around the families of the abductees. What is the difference between me and dozens of families whose sons are at the front?

"In order for us - the people of Israel - to be able to win, we will have to know how to sacrifice."
