Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responds to Minister Gideon Sa'ar's statement that returning Palestinian workers from Judea and Samaria to work in Israel is wrong and dangerous: "Gideon Sa'ar is right. The concept that you can "buy peace" with withdrawals and money has collapsed. The absolute majority of Israeli citizens understand the dangers. And you must not close your eyes. There is no more important consideration than the security of the citizens of Israel."

Member of Knesset Idan Roll from the Yesh Atid party, said: "I strengthen Gideon Sa'ar in his call to stop bringing in foreign workers from the PA. Despite the security and economic complexity, now is exactly the time to reduce the dependence of the Israeli economy on Palestinian workers. The infrastructure that the Ministry of the Interior is putting in place for an alternative to Gazan laborers can and should also be used to replace laborers from the Palestinian Authority.

"And as for the expected response that not bringing in workers from the PA will create economic hardship that will lead to an increase in terrorist attacks, I think it can at least be agreed upon that the opposite approach has not proven itself so far, neither in the PA nor in Gaza."
