Report: Rocket Hits Building in Ashkelon

Magen David Adom and the Israel Firefighting and Rescue Service are conducting searches of areas of reported rocket hits in Ashkelon. Two women are reported lightly injured.

A rocket salvo was fired from the Gaza Strip towards Ashkelon, setting off sirens. Two sixty-year-old women were lightly injured, in addition to four anxiety cases.

Magen David Adom’s Spokesperson reported that “following up on sirens in the Ashkelon sector: this was a hit to a residential structure. MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical care to two women around 60 years old who were lightly injured by shrapnel and three anxiety cases, including two children.”

The Israel Firefighting and Rescue Service, Southern District reported that “firefighting and rescue teams from the Ashkelon station are working at the scene due to a direct hit to the building. At this stage, the firefighters are conducting searches in all the apartments in the building while shutting off energy sources (electricity, gas). Firefighters are also searching additional buildings to rule out trapped/casualties.”
