State Camp Party Chairman Benny Gantz responded today (Sunday) to the death of Yuval Kastelman, the citizen who neutralized the terrorists in the shooting attack in Jerusalem and was shot to death by one of the soldiers on site who identified him as a terrorist. Gantz criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for arguing that “that’s life” when asked about the tragic incident.
“Yuval Kastelman ob”m, who neutralized the Jerusalem terrorist and was shot to death, is a national hero. He did not hesitate, and charged forward to save lives,” Gantz said. “All of Israeli society owes him deep thanks. We all embrace the family.”
According to him, “the scene of the terror attack is almost always very complex and I am sure the soldier who shot Yuval did so by mistake, a mistake that cost heavily. Alongside the necessary investigation of the tragic case by the relevant parties in the IDF and the police, we need an extensive investigation of the circumstances which led to it, the regulations and the observation of clean arms. This is our obligation to Yuval, his family, and all of Israeli society.”
Gantz ended by rebuking Prime Minister Netanyahu: “The case of Yuval the hero is not ‘life,’ but a warning sign which requires learning lessons which will save life in the future. May his memory be for a blessing.”
