Abductees, Bibas Family

The Bibas Family: "We Hope that the News will be Disproved"

Against the background of the investigation conducted by the IDF into Hamas' statements that the members of the Bibas family were killed during the Air Force bombings, the family members announced that they are awaiting the army's announcement and hope that the claim will be disproved.

Against the background of reports that the members of the Bibas family were murdered in captivity in Gaza, the family commented on what was said. The message they issued reads, "Our family is updated on the latest publication by Hamas. We are waiting for the news to be verified or hopefully disproved soon by military officials. We thank the people of Israel for the warm embrace but ask to maintain our privacy at this difficult time."

Earlier, the terrorist organization Hamas published the announcement that the family members were killed as a result of the air force bombings. In response to the announcement, the IDF spokesman announced that he would examine the reliability of the statements. "The terrorist organization Hamas continues to behave in a cruel and inhumane manner. IDF representatives spoke with the members of the Bibas family, informed them of the publication and are accompanying them at this time.

According to the army, "The IDF is examining the reliability of the information. The responsibility for the safety of all the abductees in the Gaza Strip rests fully with the terrorist organization Hamas. Hamas endangers the abductees, including nine children. Hamas is required to immediately return them to Israel."

In conclusion, they stated, "The IDF, together with all the bodies, will continue to accompany the Bibas family, as well as all the families of the abductees. The IDF is working with all means, intelligence and operational, in order to return the abductees home."

However, it is worth noting that in the past, the Islamic Jihad published a video about Chana Katzir and claimed that she was killed in IDF strikes in the Gaza Strip, but she was released unharmed during the release of captives in recent days.
